The wild, remote landscape of Texas’ Big Bend region is one of the state’s most treasured places. Now, proposed “smart wall” infrastructure threatens to permanently alter this extraordinary landscape, impacting public lands, local communities, wildlife, dark skies, archaeological sites, and the region’s economy.

No Big Bend Wall is a coalition of local business owners, landowners, ranchers, scientists, archaeologists, lawyers, photojournalists, and concerned citizens working to protect Big Bend. Since February, the coalition has built a movement of more than 130,000 petition supporters, advocated in Austin and Washington, D.C., developed legal resources for impacted landowners, and worked tirelessly to slow construction.
